Which do you prefer and why. What would you run a 5L setup?

Bigger is better for molecular flow at high vacuum. A wider distillation head will be harder to flood as well.

From my reading the bigger bore SPD heads produce better distillation rates not sure if the fractions are as clean cut though?

Iā€™m personally after a cheap big bore (34mm joint min. at the boiling flask and 29mm joint drip tip) out to the collection flask. No vacuum takeoff at the collection side either I see a lot of heads like this where there is a vacuum takeoff and the drip tip shrinks to a small od. Not sure if this is ideal for SPD cannabinoids.

Also full joint cold traps sure are sweet! No gl14 joints thank you very much

Who smokes joints these days? Extracts are where the market is at. Oh, for rotovaps, never mind.
